From the Royal Villa of Monza to the Villa Reale, the old villas of the Italian countryside had spaces that were used as greenhouses and as “courtyards” for days when the weather did not allow a proper outing in nature.
In most cases, these are no longer preserved and as a result the herbs and plants have become dense inside them. This was the inspiration of the Papakosta family – the serial hitters behind Burger Joint and the excellent Italian restaurant Vittoria Gati in Nymphs Square in Glyfada – who wanted to create as an “extension” of their original concept, a spritzeria and wine bar, with a green backdrop.
So, right next door, since last July, there is a spot that aims to introduce us to these assets of the Italian countryside, the wine, the quality sausages and cheeses of the neighbour, the relaxed aura that their combination creates, as the Italian restaurant tradition and the institution of the afternoon aperitivo taught us.
Another ideal meeting point for the afternoon fully in tune with the rhythms and vibes of the area, in one of the most charming and lively streets of Glyfada. Because true enjoyment and well-being are usually found in simplicity, in this case a beautiful, welcoming garden.
